Who I am

I have a diverse background with an eye to ask basic questions of who, what, when, where, why and how.  I can think critically, work positively, and pay attention to detail.  I am an affable person with an ebullient and gregarious personality.  I am a creative person.  I learn quickly and have a witty disposition.  I am responsive to authority and believe in teamwork, planning, and following through.  I am a person of principle who adheres to integrity, honesty, and responsibility. 


Management

I have experience in managing employees, departmental budgets, and projects.  My Management style is that of a coach and work with employees to pull the best plus a little more out of them.  I am a positive manager looking to help the bottom line while making sure valued employees are satisfied.  I am fiscally responsible but will spend money to make money.  I make sure projects are developed and implemented without micro-managing projects


Project Development

Developed a variety of projects in scope and detail.    Projects included feasibility plan to improve non-profit FM Radio station with federal and state governmental agencies, selection plan to choose hospital information system for community hospital, develop an information technology plan, developed software selection process for “best of breed,” and developed Year 2000 contingency plans.  I also developed numerous smaller projects throughout my career.


Project Implementation and Management

Implementation of large and small projects in scope.  Major projects included increasing the coverage of a non-profit FM radio station and development of project funding.  Installed hospital information system using open system architecture, network design, healthcare specific software, desktop capabilities, and support.  I also implemented numerous smaller projects throughout my career.


Instruction/Teaching

I have extensive classroom experience teaching courses from a dozen to over 100 students.  I have also developed new curriculum and modified existing course work to keep up with industry developments.  Evaluated student progress on a regular basis.  I have taught continuing education classes in computer software and procedures.  Experience in technical teaching as I have helped many obtain an amateur radio license by teaching fundamental electronics and Morse Code.


Sales/Marketing

I sold over one million dollars of computer equipment in a year. I also developed a program to sell via fax by using MS Publisher to create sales brochures. I also started a corporate video business and I wrote and produced video profiles.  Developed underwriting campaign for non-profit educational radio station.


Public Speaking

Knowledge in public speaking in small and large groups.  I can prepare lectures, talks, statements while also giving extemporaneous speeches.  I can act as a facilitator in large and small groups and provide leadership in discussion.


Writing

Experienced writer in advertising copy, white papers, news releases, news stories for both Radio/TV and Print, position papers, technical manuals, How To documents, humor, satire, poetry.
